We're working with Patrick.
He seems to need lots of sensory input and we're trying to find things to help him learn that involve lots of sensory input.
My problem? I'm not creative in that way and I don't have hundreds of dollars to spend on stuff either.
So, if any of you who read this have ideas for me on activities to help Patrick learn his letters and numbers that are outside of typical learning activities, I would SO appreciate your input. He's a bit behind and I'm not worried we can't get him caught up for kindergarten, but working with him can be a real challenge. I really don't have tons of time to search the internet and read through the thousands of mommy blogs out there for the one golden idea. So, I'm asking you to bring your ideas to me. Please help.
This morning we worked on letter and numbers. I bought some cheap frames from Ikea and Patrick loves to color on them with dry erase markers. He worked on his numbers and letters and we ended with having him write his name and draw a family picture. Patrick would always choose blocks, cars, pretend play, or outside play over sitting down and working, so I was proud he did that for me today. Here's the final result.
